Who we are

We are imperfect people that trust Jesus has lived the perfect life for us, died for our sins instead of us, and been raised to eternal life to share with us.

We are children of God by faith in Jesus. We repent of our sins and trust we are forgiven by the work of Jesus on the cross. We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us to serve the kingdom of God.

Our congregation is an independent Christian Church that believes in the essentials of Christianity as found in the bible.

Where we came from

The first service of Elm Street Church of Christ was held on November 16, 1958, at Pleasant Hill School. The church building was completed by volunteer workers and the congregation changed the name to Elm Street Christian Church. The first service in the new church building was on October 16, 1960. The church building and grounds have since undergone additions, renovations, and expansions over the decades.

This church was planted in alignment with the Restoration Movement, seeking unity of all Christians patterned after the New Testament church. This congregation has always been independent of any creed, denomination, outside governing body, or doctrinal confession.

Where we are headed

Our ministries are expanding and growing as we seek to save the lost, build community, and minister to the spiritual needs of our neighbors.

We regularly schedule events to invite our neighbors to join us for an opportunity to learn more about Jesus, our ministries, and our church family. As we reach out to the next generations our ministries are expanding into more contemporary styles in messenger, while maintaining our message of the good news of eternal life by faith in Jesus.

Mid-week bible study and contemporary worship services are being planned for addition to our ministries within the next year. We will also continue to gather for more traditional worship services and bible studies for all ages every Sunday morning.
